The basis of good coaching results is mutual trust of the Client and the Coach.
The Client should feel to what extend the personality of the Coach suits him for their team-work. The Coach should make sure the Client is open and can take responsibility. After the relations are established, the Coach and the Client define main principles and aims of their mutual work.
The first session is introductory and is free of charge.
After the clarification of common goals which the Client wants to reach during the process of coaching, it is necessary to formalize these goals clearly as well as the time period during which they will be reached. An appropriate agreement, approved and accepted by both parties, is formalized in order to make the process of interaction between the Coach and the Client more clear and transparent.
The amount and frequency of coaching sessions depends on the goals set by the Client. 8 sessions per 2-3 months is considered the optimal number. A session ranges between 1,5 and 2 hours in length.
There have been cases when one or two sessions was enough for a Client. And vice versa, there are Clients who are not satisfied with what has already been achieved. They use the services of a Coach skillfully and beneficially during a long period of time at different stages of life.
With the help of special question, exercises and techniques the Coach helps the Client to explain and formalize goals as well as to find most effective, useful and ecological ways of reaching these goals.
After the goals and the strategy are formalized, they make a plan according to which the Client will act. The plan contains long term goals, intermediate results, definite actions and dates.
The following common activities of the Coach and the Client are aimed at the implementation of action plan. The Coach helps the Client to differentiate mediation and fantasies from the reality, form useful attitudes and create necessary stiles of conduct. He also optimizes the process of search and appropriate decision making. This way the Coach performs supportive function and inspires the Client to deal with the oncoming obstacles. The Coach and the Client can keep in touch between sessions with the help of telephone consultations, time, frequency and the length of which is discussed separately.
