The core condition under which couching will produce lasting results is the Client’s aspiration to handle changes in his / her own life and his free will to translate these changes into reality.
The major objective of coach is to reveal a person’s potential to considerably increase his / her performance. Ultimate career and personal life satisfaction, harmonization of relationships with other people can be viewed as a result of it.
The Way it Happens
Mutual trust between the Client and the coach is the fundamental factor that brings good results in coaching. The client should understand to what extent the coach suits him for the joint work. The coach in his turn has to make sure in the Client’s openness and ability to take responsibility.
First Session
The first session is an introduction and takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Its primary objective is to establish relationship, determine the fundamental principles and goals of joint work and discuss key issues of future cooperation.
After clarifying common goals the client is willing to achieve in the coaching process, it is essential to shape these ideas into clear-cut targets, and also specify time length within which the above targets are to be accomplished. In order to clear up this matter and introduce some matter-of-factness into cooperation between the coach and the Client, an Agreement on the coach targets is drafted, which is to be reconciled and approved by both parties.
Coaching Duration
The number and frequency of coaching sessions depends on targets set by the client. The optimal number is considered to be 8 sessions during 2-3 months. The session duration varies from one and a half to two hours.
It may happen that one or two sessions are sufficient for a client. And on the contrary, there are clients who will not stop at what has been achieved and will make the best use of the coach’s services over a long period of time at different life stages.
